In conjunction with the dance association’s annual general meeting, dance days were held in various regions under the theme “Transitions” to bring dancers together across regions through dance.
Here are a few impressions:
Dance Day on March 17, 2024, in Allensbach
After a bit of a detour caused by the many large construction sites around Allesnbach, it was a relief to step into the beautiful attic of the St. Nikolaus parish hall, which felt warm thanks to all the wood. The beautifully arranged center invited the women present to form a circle.
Astrid, Christine, and Regina had put together a series of captivating dances and readings on the theme of “transitions.” With enthusiasm, confidence, and passion, they guided us through the day.
Dancing together was fun and did us all good. Thank you!

Welcomed warmly bythe three instructors—Astrid, Christine, and Regina—a wonderful dance performance unfolded amidst the “harbingers of spring”…
The large, beautiful hall, enchantingly decorated and initially offering an expansive view of Lake Constance, welcomed the dancers, who formed a rather large circle. The dance instructions—which sensitively unfolded reflective texts, poetry, and choreographic symbolism—blended with the sounds of the music in a shared rhythm.

Dance Day on March 16 in Wetzikon, Switzerland
with Heidi Hafen and Ulla Röber
One is studded with tiny white pearls, the other bears heavy, lilac-colored buds; this is how the blackthorn and magnolia branches greet us in the center, enchantingly arranged by Heidi. They speak of the transition currently unfolding in nature: Spring is coming! The spiral at the base of the vase symbolizes the path we follow through life.
On this day, more than ever before, I realize how little attention I usually pay to the transitions, of which there are many both in circle dances and in everyday life. Most are unspectacular and go unnoticed. It does me good to draw my awareness to them in the dance “Transformation.” Suddenly I feel how valuable the pause at the end of the A-section is. It allows me to be present when the transition occurs that leads me into a new section. It is this presence that makes such a moment a fulfilled moment! A moment in which the Eternal Presence can touch and guide me. (The corresponding dances will follow shortly!)
Surprisingly, I have another unforgettable experience during the simplest of all dances, “Spiral and Gate.” What had previously been mostly just fun—passing through the gate—I now experience powerfully as a transition, and I clearly feel the realignment that follows.
Ulla reads from articles taken from the Balance magazine issue 2//2023 titled “Transitions.” And with “Rainbow,” we span a wide arc. We connect with all the other people who, today in various countries, are engaging with the same theme through dance and thought. At the end of the day, I travel home enriched, grateful, and with the resolution to pay more attention to the numerous, mostly small transitions in life—and in dance. – Theres Meyer Felder
